A recent HK pistol design, the P30 is a modern police and security pistol that combines function and safety. Ergonomic features include a special grip frame with interchangeable backstrap inserts and lateral plates, allowing the pistol to be individually adapted to any user. Ambidextrous controls include dual slide releases and magazine release levers.
Variants with a conventional double-action/single action trigger have a serrated decocking button located on the rear of the frame. Variants with HK’s enhanced double action only Law Enforcement Modification* (LEM) trigger have no external decocking controls.
The HK Law Enforcement Modification (LEM) trigger system combines the advantages of a cocked striker component (constant level of trigger pull from first to last round fired) with a double-action hammer system. Using such an enhanced trigger system consolidates ease of use and safety into a convenient, innovative trigger operation—one that reduces the chance of unintended firing. And in case of an ammunition-related failure to fire, all that is needed is an additional second or third squeeze of the trigger without the need of first pulling the slide back to re-cock the pistol. The enhanced LEM trigger system combines the reliability of a double action revolver trigger with the crisp trigger of a single action pistol.
P30S models have an ambidextrous safety lever mounted on both sides of the frame. S models are available in conventional double-action/single action trigger mode —and have a serrated decocking button located on the rear of the frame —in addition to the two safety levers.
A Picatinny rail molded into the front of the frame makes mounting lights, laser aimers, or other accessories easy and convenient. The extractor doubles as a loaded chamber indicator providing a subtle tactile and visual reminder of a loaded chamber.
Extensively tested, the P30 has already been adopted by several European police agencies. Excellent weight and balance make the P30 naturally pointable, easy to control, and accurate to shoot. An open notch rear sight with luminous (non-radioactive) contrast points allows for fast and accurate target acquisition, even under poor lighting conditions.
During a 2010 endurance test, a randomly selected P30 test pistol fired more than 91,000 rounds without any major component failures.
H&K VP9

Manufacturer: H&K
Caliber: 9mm
Capacity: 17+1:

Updated for 2020:
The VP9 is Heckler & Koch’s latest, and most successful pistol design. We are pleased to announce that all 2020 H&K VP 9 pistols will be shipped with the following upgrades:
- 17-round magazines will replace previous 15-round versions
- New sight configuration, which includes a high-visibility front sight and a “clean” black serrated rear
- Optics-ready cut with cap. Adapter plates are sold separately and are available from the HK web store
Of course, the updated models retain all the existing features of the VP that have quickly made the VP series a class leader in ergonomics and trigger performance.
It doesn’t just feel great. It shoots great.
In any firearm, especially a handgun, the many “touchpoints” between the shooter and the firearm are critical to consistent, repeatable, performance. The touchpoints we’ve emphasized on the VP that may actually help you improve on the range as well.
Experience gained by HK engineers with the P30 hammer-fired pistol had a direct influence on the design of the VP9, but the VP9 breaks new ground with its integration of a unique striker firing system with an enhanced HK “light pull” trigger. The net result is a pistol with custom-fit ergonomics with trigger quality unequaled in any production striker fired handgun.
Ergonomic, adjustable grip– Every detail, including the grip angle, the contour of the front strap and the high rear saddle were chosen to fit the human hand. And the adaptable grip frame allows you to interchange both backstraps and grip panels in 27 unique configurations to fit your hand. All of these features help you get the same consistent grip, every time you pick up your VP.
Best-in-class trigger– The VP trigger surpasses those found on competitors. It has a short, light take-up with a solid, single action type break followed by a short positive reset.
Striker Fired– The VP Series pistols use a striker fired ignition and a modified Browning operating system combined with an optimal precision strike trigger control system — it is in essence a premium HK P30 frame mated to an advanced striker fired slide design. Materials include proprietary HK steel for barrel, slide, springs, pins, and internal components.
In addition to these features, all controls are completely ambidextrous including HK’s patented charging supports — simple components that are mounted on each side of the rear of the slide and provide better gripping leverage for racking the slide rearward. The charging supports speed reloading and make operating the VP9 easier for shooters with reduced hand strength. The VP pistols uses the proven P30 steel magazine; 17, 15 and 10-round capacity available.
The VP9 has an extended Picatinny MIL-STD-1913 rail molded into its polymer frame for mounting lights and accessories. The rail has been tested and certified to handle mounted accessories up to 5.6 ounces.
The VP9’s proprietary captive flat recoil spring helps reduce the recoil forces effecting the operator and the handgun, improving shooter control during rapid firing and prolonging component service life.
HK’s famous cold hammer forged barrel — made from cannon grade steel — ensures long service life. Similar HK barrels on 9 mm P30 models fired more than 90,000 rounds in endurance tests in 2010. The polygonal bore profile, with no traditional lands-and-grooves rifling, contributes to longer service life as well as a slight increase in muzzle velocity.
The VP9’s machined steel slide is protected from corrosion and wear by HK’s hostile environment finish.
VP pistols are made in Heckler & Koch’s Oberndorf factory in southwest Germany and are covered by Heckler & Koch’s limited lifetime warranty.

Caliber
Choosing the right caliber for your needs is crucial. Your gun’s caliber determines the amount of recoil you’ll face, the size of your firearm and the gun and cartridge combination’s effectiveness. A first-time shooter might be more comfortable and shoot more accurately with a low-recoil cartridge, such as a .22 or 9mm — although you should also take factors such as gun size and barrel length into account when finding your ideal firearm.
We offer a range of calibers to accommodate both experienced shooters and first-timers. Choose from:
- .22
- .357
- .38
- .38SP
- .40
- .44
- .45
- .454
- .50
- 5.56
- 7.62/.308
- 9mm
Type
The type of gun you choose to practice with will vary depending on your intended use. Among our gun range rentals, you’ll find:
- 1911: A 1911 firearm features a short-recoil, ergonomic design and slim size.
- Full Size: These guns, which are the full size of the pistol or rifle, provide exceptional control and reduced recoil.
- Compact: Featuring a shorter barrel and frame than a full-size weapon, compact guns are easier to carry and conceal.
- Subcompact: Subcompact is the smallest type of gun available and is the most comfortable to carry throughout the day.
- Carbine: A carbine is a long firearm with a shorter barrel than a rifle, offering easy manipulation.
Configuration
If you have a preferred firearm configuration, we offer an extensive selection to meet your needs. Pick from gun configurations including:
- Handgun: Handguns are compact and easy to carry, even with one hand.
- Rifle: Rifles have a long barrel capable of delivering powerful rounds and accurately shooting long distances.
- Revolver: Revolvers are highly efficient firearms, and the right grip can fit nearly any hand size.
- AR-Style Rifle: AR-15s can operate in both short ranges and incredibly long distances. They offer exceptional accuracy and high ergonomics.
- Machine Gun: Machine guns deliver a large number of bullets rapidly, allowing the user to hit their target quickly.
- Submachine Gun: Unlike machine guns, which use rifle ammunition, submachine guns use handgun ammunition. Many submachine guns are smaller than machine guns for easy control.
Action
We also offer both single-action and fully automatic guns for rent. Each offers unique advantages for new and experienced shooters.
- Single Action: Single-action guns, which require the shooter to cock the gun between each shot, feature a shorter trigger pull that often feels most natural to new shooters.
- Semi-Automatic: A semi-automatic firearm reloads automatically, although it fires only a single shot with every trigger pull. These guns are typically easier to shoot quickly than single-action revolvers.
- Full Automatic: Fully automatic guns fire continually with the press of the trigger and only stop once the trigger is released.
